An American will have to explain himself to the law after having attacked, apparently without the slightest reason, two people, including a grandfather who was walking a baby in a stroller.
The two separate events occurred Tuesday in the upscale Lost Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles.
According to county police, the attacker first hit a young man, then, in the second event, attacked a 60-year-old man.
In a video captured by a surveillance camera, the suspect can be seen walking towards the elderly man who is crossing a street while pushing a stroller. The attacker arrives in his victim’s blind spot and punches him with all his strength. Stunned by the impact, the grandfather falls to the ground, dragging the stroller with him.
The suspect, for his part, then simply returns to his vehicle, without hurrying.
Police announced Wednesday that they had arrested Angel Sanchez Jr., a 29-year-old Santa Barbara resident.
The motive for the attacks remains under investigation, but police noted that the victims were both Asian Americans.
