After coining the phrase “Hawk Tuah,” a Tennessee woman got an offer from an admirer willing to pay $600 to have her spit in a pot.

In an interview with Brianna Lapaglia of “Barstool Sports” on the podcast “Plan Bri Uncut,” Hailey Welch explained that her life has completely changed since her statement went viral on the web a few days ago.

While she was enjoying a night out with friends, after drinking alcohol, a man who introduced himself as a YouTuber asked her what was the gesture that could drive a man completely crazy in bed. She replied with a smile indicating that “you have to do the ‘Hawk Tuah’ and spit on that thing.”

The 21-year-old woman was surprised by the events. She only wanted to joke.

“At first I thought it was funny and it wouldn’t get out of hand,” she said. “After watching the video the first time, I came back an hour later and it had been viewed almost a million times. I was like, ‘Oh my god.’ … I didn’t want to be seen as the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl.”

Hailey Welch, who works in a factory, then sold merchandise.

“I let a man sell caps for me in my hometown and he was great to me. I’ve known him for years. He split the profits he made with me. He’s a good guy, I can’t ask for more.”

“He got an offer from a man who wanted me to spit in a pot to buy it for $600,” she said. “It’s horrible, it’s disgusting.”

Several people have created fake profiles of her on social media.

“It’s scary seeing my face on fake profiles,” Hailey Welch confessed.

The reaction of his relatives

Her parents appreciated their daughter’s humor from Belfast, Tennessee.

“They think it’s really funny,” she said with a smile. “They know me well. You can never predict what I’m going to say.”

Six months ago, Hailey Welch had already decided to delete her social media profiles. She is thinking of taking advantage of her popularity to make a comeback. She has a manager to accompany her.

“We’re working on that right now,” she said. (…) I’m looking at the option of going on podcasts or shows.”
