A 9-month-old baby died in Texas after being left in a hot car seat by his grandmother for 8 hours.

The baby was found unconscious around 4 p.m. yesterday in Beeville, Texas, police said.
The grandmother appears to have left the child strapped into a safety seat in the back of her car around 8:30 a.m., local police said in a Facebook post.
According to the site AccuWeathertemperatures reached 40 degrees Celsius that day.
No criminal charges have been filed at this time. The incident is currently being investigated as a criminal homicide.
According to the New York Postthe U.S. state Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers are involved in the investigation.

The baby’s tragic death came just a day after another accident.
A 22-month-old baby died two days ago in a hot car, also in Texas.
His mother allegedly forgot to drop the child off at daycare in the city of Corpus Christi, according to CBS Texasleaving the little girl in a parked vehicle from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the middle of a heatwave.
The mother was arrested for bodily harm and child abandonment, according to reports.
The Ministry of Public Safety posted an alert about deadly temperatures on its Facebook page today, urging caution.
