Gaza- The siege on the residents of the Gaza Strip intensified. After more than 70 days of continuous Israeli aggression, there were almost no bakeries in the besieged Strip, after most of them were bombed, and the remaining ones closed their doors due to the lack of energy and fuel sources.
These difficult conditions prompted the Gazans to convert the electric bread cooker into a cooker for baking bread using charcoal, which is the only energy source currently available. They reshaped it by opening the head and placing charcoal in it, so that the bread could be cooked from the bottom.
The residents of the Gaza Strip have turned to relying on themselves to provide the basic needs of bread that they need on a daily basis, but they face great difficulty in providing basic materials such as flour, clean water, or charcoal, which they use in cooking as an alternative to domestic gas.
Hayat Abu Zeina complains about the difficulty of providing coal or flour due to their high prices. She says, “The price of coal is expensive, and we find it difficult to provide flour, and its price is also expensive. May God make it easy for us and all the displaced. This war has hurt us greatly.”
The Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip are suffering from a severe bread crisis. The government media office had previously accused Israel of deliberately bombing the bakery area while dozens of citizens were queuing at their doors to buy their bread, which led to the death of dozens and the injury of hundreds.
