Tweeters interacted with a shocking video clip documenting a failed kidnapping attempt targeting the daughter and grandson of the CEO and co -founder of “Pemium”, the French platform for the exchange of cryptocurrencies.

The clip, which was reported by French media and social media platforms, showed the attack of 3 masked people on a woman and her child while they were walking with a man in a street in the 11th district in Paris.

The attackers tried to force the woman and her child to ride a small truck carrying the logo of the “Cronobost” company for delivery services, but the mother was courageously to try to kidnap, and she managed to extract a pistol from one of the attackers and throw him away, at a time when the accompanying man entered their assistant and was beaten with sharp tools.

The French newspaper “Le Parisien” confirmed that the two victims are the daughter and grandson of the CEO and the co -founder of “Pimium” – one of the first European platforms specialized in the Bitcoin exchange – in an incident that reflects an increasing pattern of attacks targeting workers in the encrypted currency sector and their families.

This incident was not the first of its kind in the streets of France. On May 3, the French police released the father of a businessman working in the field of digital currencies two days after his kidnapping in central Paris.

Last January, the body of a 56 -year -old man was found inside a car box after he was kidnapped from his home in eastern France, hundreds of kilometers away.

According to French media reports, the victim is the father of an influencer in the field of cryptocurrencies residing in Dubai, and a ransom was asked during his detention.

In the same month, David Balind, the co -founder of the company “Luger” specialized in the weeping currency governor, was kidnapped from his home in Lushir province, where he was seized for more than 24 hours, and was subjected to a brutal assault that included cutting one of his fingers, in a disturbing escalation of the level of violence used against workers in this sector.

These incidents come at a time when the cryptocurrency market is witnessing rapid growth around the world. In France alone, its revenues are expected this year to reach 1.2 billion dollars, with the number of its users reaching more than 17 million users, which makes it a tempting goal for criminal gangs.

Security crisis

Activists and observers in the field of encrypted currencies unanimously agreed on the existence of an escalating security crisis that threatens workers in this sector, following a series of kidnappings and extortion that targeted investors and owners of digital currency trading platforms and their families in Europe, which was highlighted by episode (2025/5/15) of the “Networks” program.

According to the Aurel, the weak security protection provides opportunities for organized crime, “which makes us in front of an organized crime pattern that exploits the weak personal protection of actors in the world of digital currencies.”

She added that most of these are not subject to security protection despite their dealings with large sums, which makes them easy goals for gangs looking for quick gains.

Activist Rola agrees with the opinion of Uriel, stressing that these incidents threaten the confidence of investors in the European digital currency environment, and confirms that there is an urgent need for a stronger organization to protect individuals working in this field.

In the same context, Sonia – a lawyer – indicates that the laws do not deal seriously with the direct criminal side such as kidnapping and extortion associated with encrypted currencies, adding that there is a legal void that must be treated quickly to keep pace with the rapid developments in this emerging sector.

The account owner Rola strengthens this offering by saying that security legislation did not keep pace with the speed of the spread of this market, which created a fertile environment for the criminal activity that targets investors and executives in encrypted currency companies.

On the other hand, activist Rocky sees another dimension of the case, and wrote, “It is not only a crime, but how society looks at the new digital wealth.” He explains that some of these attacks reflect an increasing social tension towards the new wealthy who made their wealth quickly and away from traditional systems.

After the incident, French Interior Minister Bruno Ritayo announced an upcoming meeting with a number of workers in the encrypted currency sector to discuss the increasing security threats against them, and promised to pursue those planning these attacks.

“For those who plan these attacks, we will reach them wherever they are outside France,” he added.
