Many Florida residents fled the peninsula or even the entire state as Hurricane Milton approached on Tuesday.

The storm of rarely equaled magnitude is expected to make landfall near Tampa during the night from Wednesday to Thursday.

On Tuesday, the airports and roads were crowded, testified our reporter in Orlando, Kevin Crane-Desmarais.

Numerous traffic jams were visible throughout the state.

On Monday, the mayor ordered residents of dangerous areas to leave to avoid dying. This call was clearly heard since several of them fled to safer areas on Tuesday.

Game plan for Wednesday

Like many Americans, Kevin Crane-Desmarais will go to the grocery store Wednesday morning to stock up on groceries that will allow him to survive for the next seven days.

He will also meet Quebecers who have chosen to stay in Florida rather than flee as “Milton” approaches.

Orlando International Airport will also close as of 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The Universal and SeaWorld theme parks have already announced that they will close Wednesday and Thursday. The Walt Disney World Resort, for its part, will not welcome any visitors on Wednesday, but has not yet made a decision for Thursday.
