Learn to shoot with police officers for the cost of $45? This is what the sheriff’s office of a county in Florida is offering, with a course offered to residents of this state which has authorized the carrying of a concealed weapon without a permit since last July.
For example, such a course is being offered on January 27 for nearly four hours to provide information on firearms, and more particularly those that can be concealed.
“Handguns will be available for the practical portion of the course, but we prefer that you bring your own if possible,” reads a Facebook post from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
This lesson would meet “the requirements of the Florida Department of Agriculture for obtaining a permit to carry concealed weapons,” it was noted.
However, a license and shooting training are no longer mandatory for this type of weapon since a law promulgated by the governor of the state, Ron DeSantis, came into force last July.
The course seems to have had some success since it was already full and another was added the same day.
