St. Patrick’s Day was mourned by a shooting that left one dead and two injured Sunday evening in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
After the shooting, the suspects, whose number is unknown, were still being sought by the police who invited residents to confine themselves while the police intervened, according to what the CNN network reported.
“The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is currently working an active shooter incident in the downtown area,” the department posted on its Facebook page Sunday evening, urging residents not to venture outside.
The area where the shooting took place was closed and police were working to obtain descriptions of the suspects, said Sergeant Tonya Tator, adding that the two injured people were in stable condition.
“People were scared, you know, there were a few people who were afraid of being shot,” said a bar owner to the media New4Jax, who specifies that the police intend to host a press conference on Latin Monday on this bloody event.
