After a few minutes, former President Donald Trump appeared to have a leg up on President Joe Biden. Indeed, the former president was much more aggressive, while Joe Biden seemed more hesitant.
The duration of the speeches also proves it, while Trump counted 23 minutes and six seconds, after 50 minutes of debate, unlike 18 minutes and 26 seconds for Joe Biden. At the end of the debate, Donald Trump had accumulated a total of 40 minutes and 12 seconds of speaking time. As for Joe Biden, he instead finished the exercise at 35 minutes and 41 seconds.
During the first 45 minutes of the debate, the president appeared to have difficulty expressing himself on several occasions.
Mr. Biden cleared his throat or coughed at a few points, which could confirm many people’s concerns about his health. “He was confused, he minced his words, he got bogged down in the arguments he wanted to put forward. We got lost in what he wanted to say,” analyzes Richard Latendresse, journalist corresponding to Washington.
During the presidential debate, no information mentioned by the candidates was verified by journalists, with the result that Donald Trump “(could) say whatever came to his mind, whatever he believed, without even rely on certain current events,” specifies Richard Latendresse.
Donald Trump was more disciplined during the debate. Although Joe Biden was more hesitant, he still made a good case in front of Trump.
