“The success of this evacuation effort was a direct result of the courage and selflessness of the law enforcement officers and firefighters who ensured that they continued to enter the facility until all dogs were are safely removed,” said Fairfield Police Department Public Information Officer Stacy Chiarolanza.
However, a Fairfield police officer was reportedly rushed to hospital after suffering damage from smoke inhalation. His condition had not been updated as of Thursday.
