Kamala Harris’ decision to hold her final speech in Washington is a symbolic choice, believes Stéphan Bureau, contributor to TVA News.

“We must remember that we are almost four years since the January 6 speech which was made by President Trump, a few minutes before the attack on Congress. So, symbolically, it was very important for Mme Harris for being there,” said the American politics expert during an interview on the 10 p.m. bulletin.
Stéphan Bureau underlines that the American vice-president recalled in her speech her contrast with her opponent Donald Trump.
“The essence of Kamala Harris’ message is: ‘If you have to choose between chaos or unity, it’s with me that you have to go to the polls’,” explains the collaborator.
On the Republican side, the expert notes that Donald Trump was in “damage control(damage control) at a rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania – a key state in the US election.
“This is perhaps the first time in ten days that Mr. Trump has been in a defensive mode. This is not the moment in the final stretch. Every day counts and he will have to take the offensive again if he wants to get to the finish line,” notes Mr. Bureau.
