About twenty people were injured in an explosion that destroyed the facade of a hotel in Fort Worth, Texas, according to fire department information obtained by CNN.
“It’s 20 in total. 19 of them were treated at the scene and/or transported to hospital and another patient managed to make his own way from the scene of the accident to the hospital,” says Craig Trojacek, spokesperson for the city’s fire department.
One person is said to be in critical condition and two have serious injuries, while the others have only suffered minor injuries.
Firefighters noticed a smell of gas when they arrived on scene, but for the moment the hypothesis that a gas leak was the cause of the explosion has not yet been confirmed.
