Today, Monday, the European Union imposed the package of 16 sanctions on Russia, on the third anniversary of the Russian war on Ukraine.
“Each year 3 years ago, Russia has been bombing Ukraine in the hope of extracting lands that are not returned to it,” she said, adding that “every package of sanctions deprives the Kremlin of the funds necessary to launch this war.”
The new sanctions adopted by the European Union foreign ministers officially target 73 “ghost” oil tankers that Russia uses “to circumvent the sanctions imposed on them, which aims to reduce Russian oil exports.
These sanctions also include a ban on Russian aluminum imports to the European Union.
“The new chain of sanctions not only targets the Russian ghost fleet, but also those who support the operation of dangerous oil tankers, the video games controls used to drive drones, the banks used to circumvent our sanctions and advertising devices used to spread lies,” Kaya Callas added.
One of the issues raised in the negotiations between the United States and Russia regarding the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Last Wednesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Line announced that the European Union countries have reached a new agreement to impose a 16 sanctions package on Russia, which includes a ban on aluminum imports and tightening measures against the Russian shadow fleet.
