(Washington) A senior American government official and former lawyer for Donald Trump meets Friday for the second consecutive day Ghislaine Maxwell, an accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein, Florida, where she purges her prison sentence, in the midst of a crisis for the executive around the Epstein affair.
The Todd Blanche team, number 2 of the Department of Justice and former personal lawyer for Donald Trump in several criminal procedures, has entered a door stolen from the Tallahassee court, the capital of Florida, report the American media.
For his part, David Markus, the lawyer for Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving in Tallahassee a 20 -year prison sentence for sexual trafficking, briefly spoke to journalists when he arrived.
“Ghislaine has been unjustly treated for more than five years now,” he said, calling it “scapegoat”.
“Everything she says can be corroborated and she tells the truth. She has no reason to lie at this stage and she will continue to tell the truth, “added the lawyer, refusing to the slightest precision on the content of the interrogation.
Ghislaine Maxwell, ex-partner and collaborator of Jeffrey Epstein, was sentenced in 2022 for recruiting between 1994 and 2004 minor girls so that Epstein sexually exploited them.
The death of Jeffrey Epstein, a rich businessman found hanged in his cell in New York on August 10, 2019 before being tried for sexual crimes, fueled countless conspiracy theories that he was murdered to prevent embarrassing revelations on leading personalities.
Donald Trump, who for months has promised his base explosive revelations on this file, has undergone a return of flame, including in his own camp, since his government announced in early July not having discovered any new element which would justify the publication of additional documents.
The Department of Justice and the FBI, the federal police, concluded that there was no evidence of the existence of a secret list of “customers” of Jeffrey Epstein and confirmed that he had committed suicide.
“The Department of Justice will share more information on what we have learned at the right time,” said Todd Blanche on X Thursday evening at the end of the first day of discussions.
The Trump administration and its allies are fire of all wood to get out of this affair.
