(Washington) Jeffrey Epstein’s ex-girlfriend, imprisoned, has repeatedly denied the Department of Justice to have witnessed sexually inappropriate interactions from Donald Trump, according to documents published on Friday.

The Trump administration has published hundreds of pages of interviews of interviews conducted last month by the deputy prosecutor Todd Blanche with Ghislaine Maxwell. The administration then tried to show transparency in the face of a strong reaction following its refusal to disclose a mine of documents relating to the sex traffic case.

The documents show that Maxwell covered the president of praise several times and denied, during the interrogations of the white prosecutor, having observed Donald Trump engaging in any form of sexual behavior.

The administration was probably wishing to make these denials public, while the president is often questioned about his longtime friendship with Epstein and his administration is subject to a meticulous constant examination of his management of evidence of this case.

The publication of the transcription represents the last attempt by the Trump administration to repair the political wounds which she herself imposed after having failed to meet the expectations that her own officials had created through daring statements based on conspiracy theories that have never been materialized.

By making public two days of interviews, the officials seem to hope to appease, at least temporarily, the persistent anger of the base of Donald Trump, while transmitting to the Congress of evidence that they had hitherto concealed.

After his interview with Mr. Blanche, Maxwell was transferred from a Florida Federal Safety Prison to a minimum security detention camp in Texas to serve a 20 -year sentence for his conviction, in 2021, for having attracted adolescent girls so that they are sexually assaulted by Epstein. His trial was marked by sordid sexual exploitation stories of barely 14 years old, told by four women who declared that she had been sexually assaulted in adolescence in the 1990s and in the early 2000s at the Epstein home.

Neither Maxwell’s lawyers nor the federal prisons office explained the reasons for this decision, but one of his lawyers, David Oscar Marcus, wrote on social networks on Friday that Maxwell was “innocent and never had to be tried, and even less condemned”.

“Never inappropriate”

“In fact, I have never seen the president in any massage context,” said Maxwell, according to the transcription. “I have never seen the president in an inappropriate context, in any way. The president has never been inappropriate with anyone. During my meetings with him, he was a gentleman in all respects. »»

Maxwell remembered having heard of Donald Trump and may have met him for the first time in 1990, when his father, Robert Maxwell, press tycoon, owned the New York Daily News. She said she often went to the property of President Trump in Mar-A-Lago, Palm Beach, Florida, sometimes alone, but not having seen her since the mid-2000s.

When asked if she had already heard Epstein or anyone who said that Donald Trump “had acted inappropriately with masseuses” or any other person around them, Maxwell replied: “Absolutely never, in any context. »»

Maxwell, a former worldly personality sentenced in 2021 for helping to attract adolescent girls so that they are victims of sexual abuse from Epstein, was questioned for two days last month by the White Prosecutor in a Florida court. She benefited from limited immunity, allowing her to express himself freely without fear of proceedings for her words, except in the event of a false declaration.

The case had long caught the public’s attention, partly due to the social ties that the rich financier had had for years with leading personalities, including Prince Andrew, former president Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, who declared that he had blurred with Epstein years ago, long before the latter was the subject of an investigation.

Maxwell told Blanche that Clinton was initially his friend, not that of Epstein, and that she had never seen him receive a massage – nor believed that he had never done it. The only times they were together, she said, were the two dozen times they have traveled on the Epstein plane.

She also spoke with enthusiasm of Prince Andrew and described as “absurd” the assertions of the late Virginia Giuffre that she would have been paid to have a relationship with him and that he would have had sex with her at the London home in Maxwell.

“This is the only time when, in my opinion, President Clinton could have been massaged,” said Maxwell. And he didn’t do it because I was there. »»

Maxwell sought to distance himself from Epstein’s behavior, repeatedly denying the allegations made during his trial concerning his role. Although she recognized that at one point, Epstein had started to prefer younger women, she insisted that she had never understood that it “included children”.

“I saw, from my meeting, that he was in relation, or rather in relation, or friend, no matter how we qualify him, with women in their twenties,” she told Mr. Blanche. “And then he slipped towards women of younger appearance. But I had never considered that it could involve criminal behavior. »»

Epstein was arrested in 2019 for sex trafficking, accused of having sexually abused dozens of teenagers, and found dead a month later in a New York prison cell, in what the investigators described as a suicide.
