Roland-Yves Carignan, teacher at the UQAM Media School, would be surprised if businessman Elon Musk seriously decided to acquire the television news channel in the United States MSNBC, a rumor that has been circulating since a few days.

Is this a joke or is he serious? Professor Roland-Yves Carignan does not know any more. “One thing is certain, he really likes to be talked about,” he said in an interview.
The rumor originated with President-elect Donald Trump, who proposed the idea of buying MSNBC from Elon Musk, a center-left political news station.
“There is nothing natural about it, and it would even be surprising” if he bought it, said Mr. Carignan.
The idea was still launched, Elon Musk has not confirmed or denied any real interest. “He could perhaps do the cleaning, if that happened,” added the professor on air at LCN.
In control of a media
Teacher Roland-Yves Carignan believes that we should look at the implications and consequences that could result from the purchase of the MSNBC station by Elon Musk.
“This is the most important thing, the right question: we all saw this image of Elon Musk jumping on stage next to Donald Trump,” established Mr. Carignan.
“These are two (even) more influential businessmen than one could imagine who find themselves at the head of political power. Indeed, there are things to consider,” he insisted.
