There will therefore be no other debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. The former president rejected the idea, defended by his Democratic rival, on Thursday.

“There will be no third debate,” the Republican candidate declared on his Truth Social platform, counting his televised exchange in June with President Joe Biden, then still a candidate, in addition to his confrontation Tuesday with the vice president.
Kamala Harris’ campaign had signaled within minutes of Tuesday’s confrontation that it supported holding another televised fight.
The Republican candidate justified his decision not to go ahead with another debate by deploring the fact that his rival did not agree to debate with him on the Fox News channel as well as on NBC and CBS.
“Kamala should focus on what she should have done in the last four years,” he wrote on Truth Social.
In response to Donald Trump’s announcement, the current Vice President of the United States reiterated that she would be in favor of a second debate with Donald Trump.
“I think we owe it to the voters to have another debate… because it’s the election that’s at stake and there’s nothing more important,” she said.
A debate between the running mates of the two candidates in the November presidential election is still scheduled for the 1ster October, in New York.
