Former US President Donald Trump was ordered on Friday to pay $392,638 to the New York Times and journalists from the daily in legal costs after his lawsuit against them was dismissed.

Donald Trump filed a complaint in September 2021 against the New York Times, accusing three journalists from the daily of a “sneaky plot” to obtain his tax documents.

They published an investigation in 2018 that won the prestigious Pulitzer Prize.

In May 2023, a judge in the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court dismissed the real estate mogul’s case and ordered him to pay costs.

In a new decision rendered Friday, this judge considered the amount of attorney fees estimated by the New York Times to be “reasonable” and ordered Donald Trump to reimburse them in full at this amount.

The investigation told how the former promoter, who claims to have made it on his own, had built his fortune. She assured that Donald Trump had in reality received from his father, over several years, the equivalent today of 413 million dollars which would have been partly transferred through a shell company, allowing them to escape tax.
