Today Trump’s trial begins; the tension electrifies the atmosphere. In this courtroom, a crime comes into the spotlight: the manipulation of documents to cover up payments intended to muzzle embarrassing witnesses, linked to his affair with ex-porn actress Stormy Daniels.

Yet during the scandal involving Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky, Republicans insisted on impeaching the president, declaring him unfit to govern. Hillary Clinton was under merciless pressure, scrutinized by the whole world as she had to juggle the destiny of her relationship.
Melania’s choice to stand by her husband and weather the media storm condemns her to justifying this decision for decades to come. We would never have imagined that a former American president, accused both civilly and criminally for matters of morality, sexual assault, insurrection and electoral manipulation, would be on the verge of finding the nuclear codes reserved for the President of the United States.
It’s as if Donald Trump has bewitched the Americans, there is no other plausible explanation.
