US President Donald Trump was booed by the crowd at Northwest Stadium in Landover on Sunday evening as he spoke during an NFL game between the Washington Commanders and the Detroit Lions.
The disapproving heckling of the spectators buried much of his speech, only a few scattered applause could be heard.
The head of state was on site in Maryland to attend an event honoring veterans. It was the first time in nearly 50 years that a U.S. president attended a regular-season NFL game, the last being Jimmy Carter in 1978.
After his speech, Donald Trump gave a short interview to sports commentators from Fox, which was broadcasting the match.
