A Pennsylvania man took out a mask and dressed in black to resemble the character from the franchise Chills to kill his neighbor with a chainsaw and a knife earlier this week.
Officers responded Monday to help a 59-year-old man who suffered “life-threatening injuries” after being attacked with an “armor-piercing object,” Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement.
The victim, Edward Whitehead Jr., who resided in Carbon County, was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to court documents, the man was attacked by his 30-year-old neighbor Zak Russel Moyer, who had gone to his house “in order to scare him”, with “a mask and black clothing resembling the character of the movie Chills“, reported the media Lehigh Valley Live.
The suspect told authorities he stabbed his neighbor in the head with the knife. The victim was also “hit with a chainsaw,” according to court documents.
A week earlier, Moyer had mentioned to his sister that he “wanted to kill Ed the neighbor.” He has since been taken into custody and is charged with homicide.
