This is evident from Anatolia Agency’s analysis of the Israeli army’s announced figures for dead and wounded soldiers and officers since the beginning of the ground war, which has entered its third month.
It is not clear whether the death toll numbers are final, as the Israeli army refers to them as: “war dead whose names were allowed to be published.”
Israeli army data indicate that since the beginning of the ground war on October 27, 170 officers and soldiers have been killed.
Numbers and comparisons
Taking into account that a humanitarian truce prevailed during that period that began on November 24 and lasted 7 days, this means that more than 3 soldiers and officers were killed on average every day since the beginning of the ground war.
The Israeli army also indicates that 874 Israeli officers and soldiers were injured during the ground war.
The Israeli army reported on Wednesday that 198 of the wounded soldiers had serious injuries, 327 moderate injuries, and 349 minor injuries.
Israeli media say that the number of wounded is higher than what the Israeli army officially publishes.
But by calculating the published army figures on the number of days of ground war, this means that 16 soldiers were injured on a daily basis.
Toll and losses
The Israeli army indicates that 468 officers and soldiers have been killed since the beginning of the war on October 7th.
This number does not include the 60 policemen and 10 members of the General Security Service (Shin Bet) who were announced dead since the beginning of the war.
