The Chinese government announced today, Friday, that it will impose 34% customs duties on all imports of American products, in response to a similar action that US President Donald Trump was taken yesterday. For his part, President Trump warned of taking counter -action for Beijing’s decision.
“For all goods imported from the United States, it will impose additional customs tariffs of 34% above the current customs tariff rate,” said the Chinese Ministry of Finance.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce also imposed restrictions on the export of 7 rare ground elements, including gadolinium and Etrium used in the manufacture of electronic products.
The ministry stated that China will also file a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization on customs duties.
US President Trump ignited a global trade confrontation with possible catastrophic repercussions this week by imposing 10% customs duties on imports from different countries of the world and additional drawings on the main trading partners, including China.
Trump revealed additional customs duties of 34% on China, one of the largest US business partners.
China has quickly pledged to take “counter -measures” to protect its rights and interests.
After the Chinese decision, Trump said China was “wrong” after responding to the new American customs duties, and revealed counter -procedures.
“China has played wrongly, they were panic!”
