A quick trip to the grocery store for chicken has never paid off so well for this man from Virginia in the United States, who took advantage of the opportunity to buy a scratch ticket that hid a lot of… $500,000.

On May 3, Russell Gomes went to the Food Lion grocery store to buy chicken and decided to get a “Magnificent 7 s” scratch ticket. Once he got back to his car, he scratched everything and discovered a huge lot, Fox News reported.

“I really didn’t believe it! It’s great,” he said when he claimed his prize of $500,000 US, or $683,500 Canadian.

The winner plans to use the money won to pay for a vacation they have already planned.

Note that the “Magnificent 7 s” scratch game has prizes that can range between $20 and $500,000.
