About 20 passengers on a ride were left in for a scare when they found themselves stuck at the top of a roller coaster for more than an hour on Sunday at Disney’s California park.
The incident occurred early in the afternoon, but Disneyland employees managed to rescue the passengers who were given umbrellas to protect themselves from the sun, the New York Post reported Monday.
Amusement park employees have yet to find the cause of the outage, although it is the second time in two days that the ride has stopped mid-ride, causing panic among passengers suspended in mid-air.
“I was really worried about the heat and obviously the people… he wasn’t moving and was at the top of the peak,” said a park visitor who witnessed the incident that forced the park to close for the rest of the day, according to the American media.
This is not the first time that a ride has broken down in the United States, where roller coaster passengers have found themselves stuck in the air, upside down, as was the case in the state of Wisconsin in particular.
