(Washington) Kamala Harris, unhappy Democratic candidate for the American presidential election at the end of 2024, will not be a candidate for the post of Governor of California in 2026, she announced in a statement on Wednesday.

Posted at 3.30 p.m.

“Over the past six months, I took the time to think (…) The best way for me to continue fighting for the American people and defending the values and ideas that are dear to me,” she writes.

“In recent months, I have seriously thought about asking the Californian people the privilege of representing myself as a governor. I like this state, its population, and its promises. It’s my house. But after careful thinking, I decided not to be a candidate for the post of governor for this election, “said the ex-vice-president of Joe Biden, propelled into a disaster in the White House race a year ago after the outgoing president ended up throwing in the towel.

“For the moment, my leadership and my public commitment will not go through an elected mandate,” continues Kamala Harris, before talking about her intention to “share more details in the coming months on my projects”.

A new candidacy for the White House in 2028 is not excluded, according to the American press.

Kamala Harris almost completely disappeared from the public debate after his defeat against his republican rival Donald Trump last November.

The ex-somenator and general procure of California takes advantage of his speaking to qualify the current period of “moment of crisis” and calls for “methods and a new approach” to “conduct change” in the future. “True to our values and our principles, but without being chained to the same software,” she insists.
