British Treasury Secretary Rachel Reeves with Ukrainian Finance Secretary Sergey Martinko concluded an agreement to provide a loan of 2.26 billion pounds ($ 2.84 billion) to Ukraine, which is expected to be granted the first segment of it this week, according to a statement of the Treasury.

Peace agreement

For his part, British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer said that his country and France will work to draft a peace agreement with Ukraine for his presentation to US President Donald Trump, describing it as a step in the right direction after a stormy meeting, on Friday, between Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, Voludmir Zellinski.

Starmer is scheduled to host the leaders of Western countries in London in an attempt to revive the issue of offering a peace agreement. He said that he hoped that a European coalition “of the countries with determination” will come out with a unified position to support Kyiv.

But he said that any ceasefire should be guaranteed by the United States to prevent Russian President Vladimir Putin from invading Ukraine again.

He added to the BBC TV: “In other words, we have to find those countries that are more ready for the initiative in Europe.”

Norwegian support

In the context, Norwegian Prime Minister Yonas Jarrah Stroke told (NRK), on Saturday, that his country’s government will soon ask Parliament to increase economic support for Ukraine.

“I can say today that we will return to Parliament in the near future with a proposal to increase support,” Stra added.

In late last year, the Norwegian Parliament approved the spending of a total of 35 billion Norwegian churches (3.12 billion dollars) on the military and civilian support of Ukraine in 2025 and a total of 155 billion chores (13.76 billion dollars) in the years from 2023 to 2030.

Stera will meet with European leaders and Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski in London on Sunday.

French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Schultz, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Polish Donald Tusk, Italian Geersa Meloni, as well as the Secretary -General of NATO (NATO) Mark Roat, President of the European Commission and the European Council Ursula von der Line and Antonio Costa.

This summit comes before the exceptional European summit on Ukraine to be held Thursday in Brussels.
