A cosmetic surgeon who became famous by posting videos of his patients undergoing surgery on social media is reportedly facing dozens of malpractice lawsuits after putting the clicks ahead of his patients’ safety.

“Dr. (Arian) Mowlavi is a danger to the community and his plastic surgery patients,” Dr. Robert Kachenmeister, a California doctor who allegedly treated some of them after the operation, reportedly wrote in a statement submitted to the court, according to the “Los Angeles Times” on Friday.

The surgeon, known under the alias “Dr Laguna” on social networks, would face dozens of lawsuits for botched surgical interventions, but also for having broken confidentiality on several occasions by publishing photos and videos of his patients practically naked on the operating table, without their consent.

“We have nice butts, so come with me,” he can be seen saying in a video, before seeing the camera turn to an unconscious woman with her face hidden, but her buttocks practically all exposed, reported the “ Los Angeles Times.

In the lawsuits, Arian Mowlavi is also accused of subjecting his patients to degrading practices, by forcing them to get completely naked in front of him and touching their bodies without first asking permission.

He also allegedly tried to sell them surgeries just minutes away from going under the knife, according to the American newspaper.

Other patients allege to have suffered from infectious complications following botched operations, or to have discovered unexpected scars when waking up. In some cases, he also allegedly asked an unlicensed technician to perform certain operations, such as liposuction, for him, according to the lawsuits.

Since 2018, horror stories have multiplied about him along with lawsuits, after one of his patients died a few days after her operation.

Since 2020, the Laguna Beach cosmetic surgeon has reportedly faced five lawsuits alleging malpractice in Orange County, including gross negligence and aiding and abetting the unauthorized practice of medicine. by the Medical Board in 2022, receiving a 90-day suspension and 10 years of probation, according to the “Los Angeles Times”.
