Boeing expects the aviation industry to need about 44,000 aircraft over the next two decades.

Boeing said in its latest long-term forecast on Friday that the total number of passenger and cargo aircraft in use around the world will nearly double by 2043.

Boeing CEO Darren Hulst explained that travel is more important to people now than it was during the coronavirus pandemic, and that demand is increasing.

Boeing raised its demand forecast by 3% over the year, while about three-quarters of the aircraft ordered will be single-aisle.

Low-cost aircraft play a major role in this, Holst said, adding that a fifth of long-term demand is expected to come from China alone.
