US President Joe Biden said that Israel has begun to lose international support due to the war on Gaza, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also called for a change in his far-right government.
Biden pointed out during a fundraising event for his election campaign that Israel had begun to lose the support of the international community with its “indiscriminate bombing of Gaza,” which claimed the lives of thousands of Palestinian civilians.
“They are starting to lose that support,” he said, noting that the safety of the Jewish people is literally at stake.
The US President – who has stated more than once that he is a Zionist and a major supporter of Israel – also indicated that Netanyahu needs to “change his extremist government” to find “a long-term solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”
He stressed that the current Israeli government is “the most extreme government in the history of Israel and does not want a two-state solution.”
He stated that he spent hours speaking with the Qataris and Egyptians to secure the release of more than 100 detainees in Gaza held by the Palestinian resistance.
Biden is scheduled to meet tomorrow, Wednesday, at the White House with family members of Americans (who also hold Israeli citizenship) detained in Gaza.
