Joe Biden refused on Friday to comment on the legal setbacks of his son, indicted the day before by federal courts for tax fraud in a case that could disrupt the president’s campaign to be re-elected to the White House next year.

In his eternal sunglasses, the American president greeted the press as he left the White House for a trip to the West of the country. But the Democratic leader didn’t say a word when reporters asked him if he thought his son was innocent.
Joe Biden is traveling to Nevada and California to unveil big rail investments and attend receptions for his re-election campaign.
But this could suffer from the second indictment of her son, this time accused of being “involved in a scheme” which allowed him not to pay $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019.
Years during which Hunter Biden, 53, “spent millions of dollars on an extravagant lifestyle” – to finance his drug use or afford the company of “escorts” – “instead of paying his taxes,” notes the indictment.
This new indictment means that the president’s son, already prosecuted for illegal possession of a weapon, could be tried twice next year, while his father tries to be re-elected to the White House.
An embarrassing affair for the Democrat, who is preparing to face Donald Trump, his predecessor who dominates the race for the Republican nomination and is surrounded by numerous legal cases targeting him personally.
Republican elected officials in Congress are also leading an impeachment investigation against Joe Biden, motivated by his son’s controversial affairs abroad.
After recovering from drug and alcohol addictions, Hunter Biden has now returned to painting. His father has always denied being involved in his son’s affairs, while publicly supporting him.
