A driver who died in a fiery car crash in Massachusetts was found next to a bear that allegedly dragged his body into the woods, police say.

Daniel Ducharme, 31, lost control of his car Sunday morning on Highway 91 when he hit a guardrail several times before leaving the road and rolling down a slope in the Hatfield area, according to the channel Boston25 News.
Mr. Ducharme died instantly during the accident and was “ejected or partially ejected” from his 2016 Honda Civic, according to the Massachusetts police.
A driver alerted police to the accident around 11 a.m.
“When first responders went to the scene, they found the body of the occupant outside the car and a bear was seen in the woods near the scene,” said police, who believe the The animal would have dragged the man’s body to this location.
“The evidence suggests that the animal was at one point in contact with the victim’s body,” it added.
The bear left the scene when the police arrived.
An investigation into the man’s death and the circumstances of the accident is underway. The victim was alone at the time of the tragedy.
