Barack Obama rapped part of Lose Yourself after being introduced by Eminem at a gathering on the evening of October 22.

The rapper welcomed the former US president on stage at the political event held in Detroit, Michigan.
Barack Obama and Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, took part to support Kamala Harris in the run-up to the 2024 US presidential election. The Democratic candidate is running against her Republican opponent, Donald Trump.
After Eminem’s presentation, Barack Obama began his speech by quoting words from Lose Yourselfa 2002 hit from the Detroit native.

“I’ve been to a lot of rallies so I’m not used to being nervous. But I felt something following Eminem,” he said from the podium, before intoning a rap tune: “I noticed my palms were sweaty, my knees weak, my arms are numb, I have already vomited my mother’s spaghetti on my sweater. I’m nervous, but on the surface I look calm and ready to drop bombs, but I always forget…”
Barack Obama then imitated the introductory measures of the song for a few seconds, to the cheers and applause of the crowd. The 63-year-old former president concluded: “I love Eminem.”
Before that, the 52-year-old rapper encouraged his fans to vote as soon as the polls opened.
“I am here tonight for several important reasons. As most of you know, the city of Detroit and the entire state of Michigan mean a lot to me, and as this election approaches, the spotlight is on us more than ever, and I think it is important to use your voice. “That’s why I encourage everyone to please go out and vote,” he urged.
“I also think people shouldn’t be afraid to express their opinions, and I don’t think anyone wants an America where people worry about the retaliation they might face if they make their opinions known .”
The hip-hop singer, who has opposed Donald Trump in the past, then highlighted his support for Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz: “I think Vice President Harris supports a future for this country where these freedoms and many others will be protected and defended.
The 2024 US presidential election will take place on November 5.
