Australian billionaire Andrew Forrest donated $10 million to support the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, according to what Anadolu Agency reported.
The agency quoted a statement issued by Forest’s non-governmental organization, Mindero, on Friday, saying that Forest will donate $10 million to the World Central Kitchen Organization and the United Nations World Food Programme.
The organization added, “Mendero will not stand idly by while children die of hunger.”
Last June, the Australian billionaire proposed establishing a “safe gates system” on the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel, through which 10,000 tons of humanitarian aid could be delivered to the Palestinians daily through 130 trucks crossing through 3 gates.
Billionaire Forrest previously pledged to provide financial aid exceeding $6 million to the Gaza Strip.
With American support, since October 7, 2023, Israel has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip that left more than 138,000 Palestinians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of dozens of children, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world. .
In defiance of the international community, Israel continues its massacres in Gaza, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to stop them immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
