A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly trying to cover up the murder of both his parents last Wednesday in California.
The young boy first called the police himself to report an attack on his father, mother and little sister perpetrated by “intruders” who had supposedly fled in their vehicle afterwards.
The parents, both aged 37, were killed on Wednesday night, but the boy’s little sister narrowly survived the attack. She was taken to hospital, where she was saved by the team of surgeons.
Investigators would later notice inconsistencies in the teenager’s story, leading to believe that he could be the author of these murders.
His name has not been released due to his age.
The boy allegedly invented the story of the intruders to hide that he himself had attacked his family with “several weapons,” Fresno County Sheriff John Zanoni said at a press conference Friday.
The young suspect is now in a juvenile detention center where he is awaiting trial on two counts of murder, CNN reported.
