An 11-year-old girl faces serious felony charges after allegedly plotting to kidnap and kill a girl who was courting her boyfriend at his school in Florida.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office discovered the plan through a notebook left in class by the accused detailing her plan to kidnap and kill another student, the Miami Herald Friday.
The suspect allegedly admitted to having plotted, citing jealousy towards her boyfriend, who was flirting with the potential victim, as the motive. A 5-inch (12.7 cm) steak knife was also found in the girl’s backpack during a search by police, according to local media reports.
Investigators reportedly learned that the plot had been shared with at least one other student, who testified. Witnesses also reported that the suspect confronted her romantic rival at school on February 2. One of them even had to physically restrain her to prevent her from attacking the other student.
The suspect was arrested last Wednesday and charged with serious crimes for bringing a weapon onto school grounds and making a written threat to commit murder.
