In a publication on social networks, the United States Department of Internal Security has chosen to use the musical theme of Pokémon and its character hunter and master of Pikachu Ash Ketchum. The key sentence of the Nintendo franchise, Gotta Catch’em allis used, while migrants are seen arrested by immigration police officers (ICE).
Under the publication published on the X @DHSGOV account, admirers of small Japanese critters call Nintendo of America and Pokémon to continue the Department of Internal Security for the use of their intellectual property in terms which have been censored for the needs of the publication.

The admirers will however be disappointed: in an interview with IGN, the former director of legal affairs of Pokémon Don McGowan indicated that such a prosecution would be improbable.
“Many executives from the Pokémon Company International who work in the United States are holding a green card,” said Mr. McGowan. The green card is a document issued by the United States government which authorizes a foreigner to settle and work legally in the United States permanently.
The company’s inaction surprises admirers, especially since we learn in IGN’s article that Don McGowan has never hesitated, in the past, to threaten anyone who raped the intellectual property of the Pokémon Company International.
Pokémon is a franchise launched in 1995 by Satoshi Tajiri. In July 2025, a vice article mentioned that the franchise had become the most profitable of all time with retail sales that exceeded $ 103 billion.
