A 27-year-old American from California who stole and tried to eat the leg of a victim of a fatal train crash in Wasco, north of Los Angeles, will have to appear in court on Tuesday.

Resendo Tellez was caught Friday by police handling a leg torn from the body of a pedestrian fatally struck by a train at the Amtrak station in Wasco, according to what the “Sun Joaquin Sun” reported.

According to US media, footage from a video shared on social media shows the suspect handling what appears to be the lower part of a human leg before bringing it closer to his mouth to start eating it.

The incident happened in Wasco, California.

According to police, 27-year-old Resendo Tellez removed a leg from an Amtrak Station.

Several police vehicles surrounded the suspect who allegedly ate part of the leg before displaying the limb while driving away from the scene of the accident, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, cited by local media.

The young man known to police circles was arrested on site and risks facing charges of “removal or manipulation of human remains” after stealing evidence from the accident scene, the same source added. .
