A man in Texas, US, has been arrested for animal cruelty after stealing and killing his neighbors’ dogs.
Neighbor victims first reported their pets missing to the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office earlier this month
One of the victims told authorities that the alleged thief lived in the neighborhood, which tipped off police, according to the New York Post Sunday.
After searching the Simms area, police went to a residence where Stuart Duncan Hammonds and his girlfriend were located.
On site, they discovered no less than seven animal carcasses, twelve of which were identified as those of canines, some of which had suffered head trauma.
Tipped off by a witness, the sheriff’s office told local news outlet KSLA that the suspect killed four dogs while enraged in a fight with his girlfriend.
Stuart Duncan Hammonds now faces 12 counts related to animal cruelty, while his bail has been set at US$100,000, according to the Post.
