Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa reportedly listed several reasons to vote for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, but remained silent about her Republican opponent, Donald Trump.

This was reported by Fox Business, which asked the voice assistant why people voted for one candidate over their opponent. When it came to Trump, the device was quick to respond.

“I cannot promote content that supports a specific political party or politician,” Alexa said in English.

On the other hand, the answer would have been different regarding the Democratic candidate.

“While there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, perhaps the most important is the fact that she is a woman of color who has overcome many obstacles to become a leader in her field,” Alexa reportedly said.

Repeating the question, the device cited M’s capacityme Harris’s focus on understanding and addressing racial inequality, as well as her career as a prosecutor, is highlighted.

An Amazon spokesperson, however, acknowledged that this was an Alexa error. The company said it has made the fixes.

On Tuesday afternoon, a TVA Nouvelles journalist tested Alexa and the response was the same for both American presidential candidates: the voice assistance system could not give advice or comments on political figures.
