The Moroccan Drainage Office announced that the aircraft industry increased 14.2% during January 2025, compared to the same period last year.

This came in a report of the Moroccan (official) drainage office in charge of counting trade and economic exchanges with abroad.

According to the report, aircraft exports amounted to 2.23 billion dirhams (223 million dollars), compared to 1.96 billion dirhams ($ 196 million) in January 2024.

Car exports

On the other hand, the report recorded a decrease in car exports 10% on an annual basis, reaching 10.28 billion dirhams (1.02 billion dollars), compared to 11.54 billion dirhams (1.15 billion dollars) in the same period of the previous year.

The car sector is at the forefront of Moroccan exports, followed by the agricultural sector, then phosphate.

Morocco has strengthened its position as one of the most prominent car manufacturers, with a production capacity of 700,000 cars annually, as a result of huge investments and attracting capital in the sector.

Morocco has also succeeded in attracting many international companies to invest in the aircraft industry, bringing the number of companies operating in the sector to 142 companies, providing about 20 thousand jobs.

In this context, Morocco aspires to manufacture a full plane that takes off its lands for the first time, according to what the Minister of Industry and Trade, Riyad Muzour, confirmed, especially since Morocco is among the list of the 20 largest countries manufactured for aircraft parts globally.
