A system resembling the start of a tropical storm is currently forming a few hundred kilometers from the Cape Verde Islands, near the coast of Africa.
A threat is emerging, according to information from the National Hurricane Center (NHC). Florida could potentially experience another hurricane next week.
The National Hurricane Center on Monday raised the possibility of a new storm in the Atlantic Ocean potentially becoming a tropical storm.
The low pressure system would have about a one in two chance of transforming, but, according to a new update published at 2 p.m. by the NHC, the probability rises to 60%.
Forecasters predict a medium risk of development Thursday through Saturday next week in the Caribbean, where Helene And Milton were also formed.
Fortunately, the storm has not yet generated hurricane force winds.
The low pressure area produces disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
Meteorologists monitor its trajectory; it could reach Florida in the next 10 days or divert south to Mexico or Central America.

The strength of the storm will depend entirely on its movements. If it takes a northerly trajectory towards the Gulf, the risk of a hurricane over Florida will increase.
It could gradually turn into a hurricane after reaching warm waters.
False alerts
Misinformation about the imminent arrival of a hurricane abounds on social networks, following the hurricanes Milton And Helene.
- Here is an example of this misinformation:
Many comments incorrectly claim the storm is expected to make landfall on October 18, with several photos copying the hurricane’s previous track Helene.
For the moment, meteorologists have not yet confirmed the presence of another hurricane or even a tropical storm near the United States.

The news comes less than a week after the hurricane Milton devastated the Tampa Bay area and made landfall in Florida as a Category 3 storm. The monster left millions of people in the United States without power or water.
And all this just a few days after the hurricane hit Helene.
If the beginning of the storm progresses and becomes a hurricane, it will be named Nadine.
