A man who tried to withdraw money from a bank has been arrested by authorities in Florida, United States, several American media outlets reported.
Michael Fleming went to a bank in his neighborhood on the afternoon of June 29. He filled out a one-cent withdrawal slip and handed it to a teller, according to the affidavit.
However, she refused him the service, saying that she could not withdraw a single cent.
It was at this point that the 41-year-old allegedly became angry and shouted insults at him.
Completely frightened, the employee called the police. Authorities confirmed that she feared the man would become violent.
No further details were provided regarding their conversation. They did, however, say they had reasonable grounds to believe Mr. Fleming had violated Florida state theft laws.
The defendant was held on $5,000 bail ($6,820 Canadian), according to the Sumter County Detention Center registry.
