A 50-year-old from Oregon in the United States has been accused of drugging his 12-year-old daughter’s friends by forcing them to consume smoothies laced with a sedative before watching them sleep.

“Mom, please come pick me up and say I had a family emergency. I don’t feel safe. I may not answer, but please come and get me, please. Please answer. PLEASE!!,” one of the girls allegedly texted on August 26 around 1:45 a.m., according to Lake Oswego police, reported the “New York Post.”

Father Michael Meyden, 57, turned himself in to the Clackamas County Jail on Wednesday after being formally charged with administering a controlled substance to several young girls during a sleepover party at his property. ‘Oregon.

That evening, the friends gathered to watch movies and get facials, while the father allegedly made them mango smoothies, which included “tiny white bits all over and sprinkled on the top”, by “insisting” that they finish their drink, according to the affidavit reported by the American media.

It was then that they allegedly began to feel “dizzy, hot and clumsy”, before one of them lost consciousness into a “thick, deep sleep she had never experienced before”, she would have told the police authorities.

During this time, the man allegedly placed a finger under the nose of one of them, to ensure that she was asleep, before moving the body of another on the bed.

According to the court document, one of the friends managed to “stay awake for fear that Mr. Meyden would do something” to her friend.

He then stood back to watch the girls sleep for a long period of time, the American media continued, before one of the mothers arrived on the scene and warned the other parents.

At the hospital, the girls all tested positive for an unknown prescription drug, which turned out to be a benzodiazepine, a depressant that slows down the nervous system, according to the “NY Post.”

For their part, the police have not come forward with a motive. The man pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, according to the American media.
