From Monday October 2, it will again be possible to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. Who are the people concerned? How does the anti-Covid-19 vaccination take place? What about the flu vaccine?

Vaccination against Covid-19 is free. No prescription is necessary. It can be done in a pharmacy. For everyone over 5 years old, the vaccination schedule has been simplified. Only one dose of vaccine is now required. This has been adapted to the variants currently in circulation.

Who should be vaccinated?

The people who should be vaccinated as a priority against Covid-19 are those who are most likely to develop a severe form:

  • people over 65 years old;
  • people affected byhigh blood pressurehigh blood pressure complicated, pathologiespathologies cardiac, vascular, renal, hepatic or pulmonary,obesityobesitydiabetes, cancer, Down syndrome, psychiatric disorders or dementiasdementias ;
  • pregnant women ;
  • immunocompromised people;
  • nursing home residents.

And on a case-by-case basis, anyone at high risk of developing a serious form of the disease. All people in regular contact with vulnerable people are also concerned (relatives and professionals). Of course, anyone who wishes to be vaccinated can do so, even if they are not on the list above.

What about the flu vaccine?

The flu vaccine will be available in pharmacies from October 17. Like the anti-Covid-19 vaccine, it is recommended for the most vulnerable. For those who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 between October 2 and 17, concomitant anti-flu and anti-Covid-19 vaccination is recommended. Both vaccines can be injected on the same day, one in each arm.
