The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor called on the international community to support calls to stop the deliberate killings committed by Israel against hungry civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The Observatory condemned, in a statement, in the strongest terms, “the Israeli army killed 20 Palestinians and wounded dozens, by opening direct fire on them while they were waiting for humanitarian aid to enter Gaza City.”
He stated that on January 25, Israeli forces deliberately targeted dozens of hungry civilians with artillery shells at the Kuwait roundabout, killing at least 20 of them and wounding more than 150 others, a number of whom are in critical condition.
The Observatory pointed out that “Palestinian civilians are paying a heavy price for the international community and its competent institutions ignoring calls to stop killing them, including the hungry who are waiting for humanitarian supplies, in light of the humanitarian crisis they face and an imminent famine with dangerous repercussions.”
He stressed that the international community must heed calls to stop Israel’s deliberate killing of hungry civilians.
The Observatory warned that “the Israeli army is deliberately using starvation as a method of war against civilians in Gaza City and its north, not only by obstructing the entry of aid into these areas, but also by continuing to kill and injure them as they try to obtain limited aid, in perpetuating the crime of genocide it is committing.” Israel against the residents of the Gaza Strip.”
He added, “What is happening while waiting for aid in eastern and western Gaza is a blatant expression of the inability of the international community and United Nations agencies to ensure appropriate mechanisms for delivering aid to the population, and a clear confirmation that Israel continues to commit the crime of genocide and the policy of starvation, without any deterrence or intervention and in full view of Israel.” “The whole world.”
