An American couple from Florida who evacuated their home to escape the fury of Hurricane Milton, which killed 16 people and caused some US$50 billion in damage, discovered quite a surprise when they were found at home.
Laura and Basil Yorio were forced to evacuate their Palm Bay home before the hurricane hit Wednesday, but when they returned to see the damage firsthand, they came across a piece of jewelry lost more than 9 years old.

“We’ve been here 1,000 times in the last nine years. I have a landscaper who comes once a week, for nine years, and nothing,” said Laura, who said she was “almost a little guilty for being happy” in the face of the disaster caused by the powerful hurricane.
