An American company specializing in security devices has reportedly set up a program to encourage its employees to get together for drinks several times a week, with the aim of encouraging their creativity.
“The idea is that if three employees go out and spend time together in the afternoon, there’s a good chance they’ll talk about something relevant or work-related and ultimately ultimately, it’s beneficial to us,” said the CEO of the Verkada company, Filip Kaliszan, in an interview with The Logan Bartlett Show on TikTok, reported by Business Insider.
The American company, which specializes in particular in security cameras, alarms and air quality detectors, would offer its employees $30 to have an aperitif for three after 3 p.m., once or twice a week, in a program called “3-3-3”, according to the American media.
In exchange, the company would only ask its employees to publish a photo of the group going out, in a group on the Slack communication platform dedicated to this purpose, administrative and financial director Kameron Rezai would have added.
Since the start of the program, the company has proudly encouraged more than 1,500 meetings between its employees, supporting more than 350 local businesses located within feet of its 15 offices, in a recent post on Instagram.
The Californian company, which believes that this will help strengthen social bonds and productivity, plans to continue offering the advantage as long as its turnover continues to increase, Kameron Rezai reportedly added.
In 2023, Verkada would have grown by 60% and would be valued at US$3.5 billion, according to Business Insider.
