A library in Ohio had quite a surprise when a user came to its premises to return a book that had been borrowed…in 1931.

The Licking County Library shared a video of the book in question called “Heart Throbs: the old scrap book”.
The video shows the book in very good condition with a sticker inside listing library regulations as well as book return dates.
This should have been returned on November 9, 1931.
“A user finally returned it to us after finding it in his great aunt’s house,” the library said in its publication.
At the time, the fine for being late was 2 cents per day, which would have brought the total to nearly $700.
Fortunately, late fees have since been abolished.
