Four people are dead and another is in critical condition after a hot air balloon crashed in the town of Eloy, Arizona.

Police were dispatched to the scene around 7:50 Sunday morning.

The exact cause of the incident is not yet known, the Eloy police said in a press release.

“The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are on scene and have taken control of the investigation,” it says.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

The town of Eloy is 100 kilometers from Phoenix, which is considered “the skydiving capital” according to the New York Post.
The investigation continues to determine the circumstances that led to this incident.
